Tampa Bay Buccaneers vs Philadelphia Eagles: Final Injury Report

Coach Bowles gives us the latest update on Tampa Bay’s injury front
Transcript

It has been an interesting week of preparation from these Tampa Bay Buccaneers. From Hurricane Helene to an abnormally long injury report from this Bucs’ squad, they prepare for a Philadelphia Eagles team who is also banged up. Potentially without both of their star receivers, the Bucs defense could have a huge break and can focus on stopping the run.

Head coach Todd Bowles spoke to the media Friday after the team’s final practice with updates regarding the status of a few key Buccaneers. Both safety Antoine Winfield Jr. and Calijah Kancey have missed multiple games this season and the trend will continue moving into week four. Bowles ruled them definitely out for this week’s match-up and left the door open for a few other Bucs’ players.

Nose tackle Vita Vea missed last week and has practiced all throughout the week, he continues to be questionable but he will be a game-time decision. The same can be said for Luke Goedeke, who practiced, looks and feels good, but still must clear the NFL’s concussion protocol before he’s able to suit up for a game.

It leaves the game status of Kameron Johnson, Bucky Irving and plenty other of Bucs’ difference makers who have battled injury throughout the week. Jalen McMillan also tweaked his hamstring in Friday’s practice and will go into the weekend as questionable.

For Philadelphia, they will be without dynamic receiver DeVonta Smith. He was diagnosed with a concussion in last week’s game against New Orleans. Opposite starting receiver A.J. Brown ends the practice week as questionable to play Sunday with a hamstring injury. An absence of both Smith and Brown would be huge for this Bucs’ defense who is the only team in the league to have not given up a passing touchdown.
